  • TECH FOR VEHICLES AND FOR GEAR IS SET FOR FRIDAY FROM 2:00 PM -7:00 PM.

TECHING GEAR AND CARS AFTER HOURS HAS BECOME AN EXPECTATION AND WE CANNOT COMPROMISE THE ACTUAL EVENT TO ACCOMMODATE LATE COMERS.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR CAR AND/OR GEAR CHECKED PRIOR TO 7PM FRIDAY, YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR AT LEAST ONE HOUR AFTER THE RACE BEGINS TO DO SO.  THIS IS NOT TO PUNISH ANYONE, BUT WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO ENFORCE THIS SO THAT THE RACE START WILL NOT BE COMPROMISED.

IF YOU AS A DRIVER CANNOT BE AT THE TRACK BEFORE 7PM FRIDAY, PLEASE SEND YOUR GEAR WITH A TEAMMATE THAT IS ABLE TO BE THERE.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN UNTIL 7PM FRIDAY EVENING.  IT WILL THEN REOPEN AT 7:00 AM SATURDAY UNTIL 7:45 AM.  REGISTRATION WILL THEN BE CLOSED UNTIL APPROXIMATELY ½ HOUR AFTER THE RACE BEGINS.  

  • THE MANDATORY DRIVERS MEETING IS JUST THAT – MANDATORY – ABSOLUTELY ALL DRIVERS WILL NEED TO ATTEND THIS MEETING.  WHEN THE MEETING GETS UNDERWAY AT 8AM. PIT ROAD WILL BE CLOSED, NOT JUST FOR DRIVERS BUT FOR PIT CREW AS WELL.  THERE WILL BE NO VEHICLES ALLOWED, NO PIT SET UP, NO GENERATORS RUNNING ETC ETC. WRIST BAND SWITCHES MAY OR MAY NOT HAPPEN AT THIS MANDATORY MEETING.

7:00 pm – 7:30 pm Novice School

Please note we would like to be complete with Tech by 7pm!!!

The LAST CAR TO BE TECHED WILL START NO LATER THAN 6:45

 

Saturday May 5th:

8:50 am Cars to grid in pit position

9:00 am Parade Laps

10:00 am Checker Flag/Green Flag for One hour race

12:00 pm Checker Flag/Green Flag for Three hour race

5:00 pm Checker Flag

Barbecue and Social Time begins at 5:30!  All are welcome!

Supplemental Rules

 

HOT PIT AND PIT LANE

 

  • SR1 – Pit Lane Speed Limit is SLOW.  (That’s about 2,000 RPM in second gear for most cars or 20 km/h.)  The speed limit shall be in effect for the entire length of the outer pit wall.
  • SR-2 - Pit lane spaces will be assigned.  Email info@chumpcarcanada.com for any special requests. You will receive a copy of the pit assignments during the week prior to the event.  If you set up in someone else’s pit, you will be asked to move.
  • SR -3 NO crew members are allowed over the wall until the race car has come to a complete stop in the pit box!
  • SR-9 There will be NO setting up of your pit until after 5pm on Friday June 30th.
  • SR-8 No children under the age of 14 and no animals are allowed in the hot or cold pits.  
  • SR-7 Smoking and/or vaping is not allowed in the hot or cold pits.  Smoking is permitted in the public area.
  • SR-6 No open flame stoves or BBQ’s are allowed in the cold or hot pits.
  • SR-5 Electric, propane or kerosene heaters are NOT allowed anywhere in the hot pit or the cold pits.  
  • SR-4  All work and/or repairs that can be made to your race cars in less than thirty (30) minutes may be executed in the Pit Lane; all repairs requiring more than 30 minutes time must be completed in the paddock area

 

Please note the 2005 dated helmets are no longer accepted.

 

FUELING

  • SR-9 The Hot Pit Lane is the exclusive fueling area.  The fueling of the race cars shall be completed by use of a 20 Liter plastic jug and funnel.  Hoses or other fueling adapters are also allowed as per the BCR. Jugs must have sealable lids/caps.  Metal fuel drums or other fuel containers with manual pumps and hose lines are allowed to refill plastic jugs, but not allowed for refueling cars.  No electric pumps are allowed. ALL fuel storage must be maintained on the ‘cold’ side of the pit wall or kept within your transporter
  • SR-12 ALL team members over the wall when fueling must wear a fireproof driver’s suit, gloves and a full face helmet
  • SR-11 The designated ‘fire bottle’ crew member MUST be ten (10) feet from the gas cap. This crew member must ONLY be standing with full attention on the fueling.  This means he/she does NOT help take off the gas cap/trade off gas cans or anything else that may take his/her attention away from fueling.    
  • SR-11 Drivers may remain in the car during fueling.  Driver changes are allowed during fueling. NO WORK ON ANY CAR SHALL BE ATTEMPTED DURING FUELING – this includes checking tire pressure, cleaning the windshield and emptying ‘cool suit’ coolers.  All engines and electrical kill switches must be OFF during fueling.
  • SR-10 All teams shall have one (1) fully charged 10lb ABC fire extinguisher in their pits.  All teams should have at least one (1) 10lb bag of absorbent for any minor fuel spillage and/or oil leaks.  ANY spillage must be cleaned up as soon as the car leaves the pit area.

 

GENERAL
 

  • HYDRO WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE PADDOCK.  SHANNONVILLE CHARGES $20 FOR THE FIRST DAY AND $10/DAY EACH DAY THEREAFTER.  THEY HAVE ASKED THAT YOU BRING A LONG EXTENSION CORD.
     

  • SR-13 All cars, used or junk parts too big for a normal trash can, empty fuel drums   and anything else you brought with you must be taken out with you.

  • SR-14 RESPECT the facility, staff, volunteers and other competitors.

 

ANY TEAM THAT DOES NOT RESPECT OR ABIDE BY THE ABOVE RULES MAY BE PENALIZED AS DEEMED NECESSARY BY CHUMPCAR CANADA.

COST FOR PIT/SPECTATOR PASSES:

$20 for the weekend or $10 per day.  Kids under 14 are free when accompanied by an adult.       Wristbands can be purchased at the track front gate. Members are admitted without cost.

IF you are made to pay at the front gate and you are a member, please come to registration and it will be refunded.

Overnight Camping: 

Self-contained RV camping in the paddock is allowed on Friday and Saturday night.  All vehicles must vacate the track grounds Sunday.  There is NO electric hook up or waste dumping services.  There is no additional charge for camping.
